Marguerite Meade

MARGUERITE MEADE is a senior attorney with over 25 years of experience in all facets of civil litigation. She successfully has tried, mediated, and arbitrated numerous cases in both federal and state court, including employment, personal injury, professional liability, and disability access cases. Ms. Meade specializes in Employment Law, including wage and hour claims, wrongful termination and constructive discharge, gender, age, disability and race discrimination/harassment, and whistle-blower cases. She recently co-chaired the successful defense of a two week trial involving allegations of rape and harassment in the work place. 
Ms. Meade also has handled a number of diverse cases, ranging from Commercial Disputes and claims of Serious Personal Injury, to representing a Korean diplomat in an employment dispute that required the application and interpretation of international treaties. 


Ms. Meade is expert in law and motion matters. She successfully has brought and opposed over one hundred Motions for Summary Judgment. She has gained a reputation in her years of practice as a zealous advocate with a remarkable track record of success in brief writing. In addition to pre-trial and trial work, Ms. Meade regularly argues and prevails before the federal and state appellate courts, often resulting in published decisions, e.g. Park v. Shin (9th Cir. 2002) 313 F.3d 1138, Chase v. Blue Cross of California (1st Dist. 1996) 42 Cal. App. 4th 1142.


Ms. Meade has substantial expertise and experience advising clients and preparing employment, executive, severance, independent contractor, proprietary, non-disclosure, non-solicitation and non-compete agreements, employee handbooks and employer policies and procedures.


Ms. Meade obtained a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1980. She is a 1988 graduate of Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. Ms. Meade is a member of several legal organizations.
